I’m Rachael, and welcome to Capturing The Negative.

I have a particular interest in landscape and lifestyle photography. I like to capture life as it happens around me, not wait for it to be posed and positioned. I’ve been told that I have a photojournalistic style to my images.

Most of my images are likely to be in a black and white style, I love the simplicity and emotion presented within them.

I have been taking photos since 2008 when I received a Fuji Finepix S5800 after finishing my GCSEs. Since then I’ve gained new cameras, and plenty of new skills. There is still a lot to learn though.

My blog page is used more as journal for my day-to-day life. I go into details about my own mental health and wellbeing and how I often use photography as a means of coping. It is within the blog you’ll find my most recent photos, alongside Instagram and Facebook.

As usual I am on various social networks including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram so please give me a follow/like.
