Forgotten Gem
I’ve been playing with my 50mm lens recently. I’d forgotten all about it and never really found any use for it. That was until I did a bit of reading. I’ve decided to take it with me when we do the Wirral Coastal Walk next month as it is so light and easy to use.
We went for a walk around Shotwick last week as the first practice run. I’ve never really done a post like this one so warning; lots of photos ahead!
Another surprising, yet very welcome use I have found for the ‘nifty fifty’ is an extremely cheap macro setup. Macro photography is something I’ve always loved but felt I could never fully do it as a macro lens is so expensive so an alternative introduction to the genre is always good. I bought a cheap set of extension tubes and a reversing ring and went ahead with some test shots!
I think I may have to do more posts like this one. During an outing I often take a lot of shot so this is a good way of presenting them all without overloading Flickr/my Project365 page.
Side note, we’re still looking for sponsors for the Wirral Coastal Walk;
