Keeping Busy with a Hobby

There’s always one piece of advice that is given when related to mental health. Keep busy. Find a hobby.
For me that is photography, while it annoys me to no end some days overall it’s an enjoyable hobby. It could also be potentially very rewarding. Photography allows me to switch off for a little while. I become absorbed into getting the shot I want, the shot I see in my head however annoying it can get sometimes.

Arts and crafts is another popular hobby that in many ways is similar to photography in that you need to concentrate to produce what you want. While Matt was producing a spinning wheel for his dungeon and dragon’s campaign I managed to get some half-decent b&w shots.

That said, having something to do can also add pressure if done incorrectly, as I found with the Project365. I find photography so much more enjoyable now I’m not forcing it. It’s definitely worth trying to find something to occupy your mind a little; reading, writing, walking etc.
