We had a week where both of us were off at the same time so needless to say it’s been a very full on 7 days. We have enjoyed some days out here and there, but mostly just been spending a lot of time as the three of us.
On Monday, we took Freddie off to Llandudno, the first time with us. It’s a place that is special to me, I’ve got a lot of fond memories of North Wales so being able to take him to the West Shore was nice. We went for a walk along the prom, down the pier and up the Orme. I’m already looking forward to next time, and definietely when he’s a bit older to go on the cable cars and toboggan!
We also had a visit to a soft play centre – the first time in a while so Freddie was absolutely made up. He wanted to be everywhere, all at the same time. I never realised how exhausting crawling about after a fairly speedy 14 month old can be, nevermind him, I was ready for a nap afterwards!
Speaking of which, we have started transitioning to one nap. On the whole it’s worked out quite well, there is now more time in the morning/early afternoon to do things but on the otherhand, Freddie has been full on. More full of energy, more talkative, more active. More tantrum-y.
Now I’ve always found his crying quite overwhelming, but add in the throwing himself on the floor, throwing food, refusing to get changed and general toddler antics, this week has been difficult. Fun but difficult.
Freddie also had his 1 year health visitor appointment on Thursday, he passed with flying colours, the only thing he is “behind” on (and I use that very very loosely) is his walking. He can’t yet walk alone – when he’s thinking about it – but is so so close. He’s getting more and more confident each day, he just is currently focusing on other things, like climbing. Yay.
This week I’m starting back at work, in a new Costa store. It’ll be nice to have a new, fresh start literally just around the corner from home.
